For that you shall have to use the Rubber tool to prevent the new lines to finish too brutally, which is not useful in the case of the first use of the Filter. Finally, this is a verification of the great capabilities of the software, which provides you with several solutions to reach a given result. Another point: the previous image was in true greyscale, i.e. without any pattern. To reach that result, you must ask the Colour option in the window Layer Properties. Then you can choice between untextured greys and true Colours (with a RGB management, but available as CMYK or HSB, however without any profile support).
